Work has started to deliver 100 high-quality new homes in Cirencester, representing a multi-million-pound investment at The Steadings – the new neighbourhood for the town.
The homes will be created through a collaboration between top 10 housebuilder Keepmoat, Homes England and Bathurst Development.
Keepmoat is constructing the new homes located at the main entrance off Spratsgate Lane. This first parcel on the main site at The Steadings will deliver a unique mix of one and two-bedroom apartments and two to five-bedroom homes, built using Cotswold stone.
Ben Leather, Regional Managing Director at Keepmoat South West, said: “We’re pleased to be breaking ground at The Steadings, representing the start of our first development in the heart of The Cotswolds.
“At Keepmoat, we pride ourselves on our robust partnership model and look forward to progressing our new collaboration with Bathurst Development and strengthening our ongoing partnership with Homes England.
“Our focus is on creating a well-connected development that complements the local surroundings and heritage, whilst also creating high-quality, affordable homes for the local community.”
Peter Cusdin, Development Director at Bathurst Development, adds: “We are looking forward to seeing the designs from Keepmoat take shape for this important phase at the eastern gateway to The Steadings.
“The team at Keepmoat has demonstrated an understanding of the unique requirements of this site, and how the emerging new neighbourhood integrates into Cirencester as the ‘Capital of The Cotswolds’.”
All the homes will feature a mix of energy-saving technology such as air source heat pumps and PV panels. Bathurst Development has completed the delivery of the new primary street, play areas and extensive landscaping of the adjoining open green spaces as well as improving local infrastructure with a new school building and improved roads and footpaths, with further investment underway.
Joe Wharton, Assistant Director of Markets, Partners and Places (South) at Homes England said: “The Steadings is a great example of what can be achieved when public and private sector partners work together with a shared ambition for a community.
“Our partnership with Keepmoat will deliver much-needed, high-quality homes in Cirencester – homes that respect the local character and heritage of the Cotswolds while giving people the opportunity to put down roots in a place they can be proud to call home.”
Keepmoat is a top 10 UK partnership homebuilder with a track-record of delivering quality homes in regions across the UK. To date, Keepmoat has built over 35,000 homes, transforming brownfield sites into thriving new communities.
