Lighthouse View will provide 72 high quality, one and two bedroom apartments for people aged over 55 who may need additional support. Providing access to care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, Lighthouse View also includes treatment rooms, a hair salon, restaurant and an outdoor exercise area. It is the first extra care scheme of its type in Fleetwood.
The accommodation is fully accessible and fully adaptable, meaning it can be tailored to individual needs over time. This will allow residents to stay in their home, with the necessary support, for as long as possible without the need to move to a nursing home in the future.
Stephanie Harrison, Executive Director of Operations and Customer Services at Regenda Homes, said: “I am delighted that we’re finally ready to welcome residents into their new home.
“Lighthouse View will provide high quality, safe and secure homes for older people who want to enjoy their independence with care and support available when they need it. There is a real lack of this type of housing across the country and I’m so proud that we can bring these much-needed homes to Wyre.
“I would like to wish Lighthouse View residents the very best in their new home.”
Garry Payne, Chief Executive of Wyre Council, commented: “We are incredibly proud to work in partnership with Regenda to deliver these much needed homes to residents of Fleetwood. These new homes will provide great quality and secure homes for older residents.”
The handover of Lighthouse View was delayed due to the principal contractor, Bardsley Construction, entering administration in 2019. As work was due to restart, Covid-19 hit, closing construction sites across the UK and affecting the supply chain.
Lighthouse View is part of Regenda Homes’ 10 Year Vision for Fleetwood, which aims to regenerate and transform the area and provide health, wellbeing, employment and skills opportunities.
