Spring launch for new Formby homes

The first new homes at The Dunes in Formby will be released in spring /summer 2019, Elan Homes has announced.

The homebuilder has recently started work to prepare a site off Lenton Avenue for housing after securing reserved matters consent for 34 homes.

Elan will develop 2.75 acres of the 3.39 acre site, which was previously overgrown vacant land with ancillary buildings.

As the development name suggests, the homes are being built close to the coast with the beach and the famous red squirrel nature reserve within walking distance.

The neighbourhood also features shops, well regarded schools and healthcare facilities. Plus Freshfield station offers easy access to Liverpool city centre and Southport.

Marie Morris, sales director for Elan Homes in the North, said: “At Elan Homes we have established a solid reputation for building in some of the most desirable locations. We previously built in nearby Crosby and Thornton and have experience of building in South Liverpool, including the sought-after Mossley Hill area where we created an exclusive development of executive homes and have another development, Mossley Gardens coming soon.

“We were keen to create a development of high quality modern housing in Formby, and while we’ve only recently started work at The Dunes, we have already received an excellent response from potential purchasers who are eager to discover more about the properties. Under the current build programme we anticipate releasing the first homes for sale in the spring and would invite anyone considering buying here to register their interest to be kept informed of our progress.”

The Dunes will offer 23 homes for private sale in a choice of three and four-bedroom designs, ranging in size from 975 sq ft to 2,001 sq ft.

There will also be 11 affordable homes, in the form of three-bedroom semi-detached and mews properties, which will be available via a registered provider.

Existing trees will be retained on site and there will be a small landscaped area as part of the development.

Elan will also contribute £68,850 towards green space and invest £75,000 in playing pitches for the benefit of the wider community.
