A children’s pre-school and a local carnival are the latest recipients of charity funding from a leading house builder.
Weldon Pre-School and the Kettering Carnival have both been selected to receive £1,000 through the Persimmon Homes Midlands Community Champions scheme.
The year-long initiative aims to support local groups and charities from a pot of £24,000 match-funding.
Claire Davidson, head of sales for Persimmon Homes Midlands, said:
“We are committed to supporting small charities, clubs and organisations in the local area. When these organisations rely on the work of volunteers and ordinary people to help improve their communities, their hard work deserves our thanks and funding.”
Weldon Pre-School provides a lively, caring and fun learning environment for children aged 2-4 from Weldon and the surrounding area. The not-for-profit organisation its pre-school in the village hall, and the Community Champions funding will help to provide new educational toys and outdoor activities for the children to enjoy.
Kettering Carnival is a family fun event which helps to raise money for the locally registered blind each year.
