Plans for Oxfordshire community centre approved

Planning permission has been granted for the development of a new community centre in Bicester, Oxfordshire.

Developer Countryside Properties (Bicester) is going to build the centre as part of its Kingsmere development which includes housing, primary and secondary schools and health facilities.

The community centre will feature a ground floor café, multi-purpose hall and a dedicated youth facility in the adjacent building.

Andrew Carrington, Director, Countryside Properties (Bicester) Ltd comments:

“The centre will become a valuable asset for the new community, which is now flourishing. We hope that the community centre will become a place where people can meet and spend time socialising and relaxing, and ultimately form the foundations of a thriving new community.”

The community centre will be located within the new local centre, proposals for which include a new convenience store, a day nursery, and a number of retail units. A hotel, and family restaurant have already been opened on the Kingsmere site along with nearly 600 homes.

Work is anticipated to start on the community centre later this year.
