IBI Group’s plans for 580 homes on a 100-acre site at Yew Tree Farm, Burscough, West Lancashire have been given the green light.
The development will help to address the housing shortage in West Lancashire and will include affordable homes and residential accommodation specifically designed for the ageing population.
The expansion forms part of a masterplan produced by architects, IBI Group for Crompton Property Developments. The masterplan has been carefully designed to improve connections between adjoining areas, enhance local public transport, in addition to providing space for local employment growth. The development is set to boost the local economy and sustain local jobs.
The scheme includes approximately 150,000 ft² of employment space, retail and community facilities, a new linear park, cycle and walking routes, allotments, and a site safeguarded for a future primary school.
Due to complete in 2027, the development sits within a wider 180 acre mixed-used extension of Burscough village.
