A leading Essex housebuilder has acquired land to launch a new phase of development in Stanway, which will provide a further 101 much-needed new homes for the area.
A continuation of Persimmon Homes Essex’s existing Nightingale Gardens development, the new phase will consist of two bedroom apartments, and three and four bedroom properties, including 20 affordable homes.
Work commences following the opening last week of the Stanway Western Bypass, a scheme which was completed by O&H Colchester with funding from the purchase of Persimmon’s successful first phase at Nightingale Gardens.
Jason Andrews, land director at Persimmon Homes Essex, said:
“The mix of properties in the latest phase has been carefully considered to provide homes for people at all stages of the property ladder, from young professionals to families and those downsizing later in life.
“Preliminary work will begin imminently on site and we hope to have a show home open in the Autumn with new properties available before the New Year.”
Buyers at the latest phase at Nightingale Gardens will benefit from being close to popular amenities, located adjacent to the site in the recently regenerated Tollgate Retail Park.
The development enjoys excellent transport links to Colchester’s town centre, and is a short distance from the A12, the trunk road for Chelmsford and London. The site is also conveniently located for access to main railway lines providing services to London Liverpool Street from nearby Marks Tey and Colchester stations.
