A leading Yorkshire housebuilder has started work on a new development on land at Plumtree Farm, off Bawtry Road in Harworth.
Persimmon Homes Yorkshire plans to build 212 homes, providing much needed new homes for the area.
Speaking of the new development, Simon Usher, deputy managing director at Persimmon Homes Yorkshire, said:
“Obtaining planning consent for the Plum Tree Grange development is a major landmark for both Persimmon Homes and the local area. The approval of the plans will benefit the local community with much needed housing and jobs.
“The site redevelopment will deliver a mixture of two, three and four bedroom homes, suitable as first-time buyer starter homes through to larger properties for growing families, and providing an extensive choice of house types at affordable prices.”
Councillor June Evans, Chair of Harworth and Bircotes Town Council believes that this is a significant step forward in the future of Harworth.
“Harworth and Bircotes Town Council recognises the need for growth and development in our town and in recent years has taken a proactive approach to attracting investment; the proposed build of new houses by Persimmon is a clear signal that the programme of investment is now a reality.
“I believe this development will enhance the appearance of Harworth, bring benefits to our population and to local business, and raise the profile of Harworth and Bircotes.”
Construction commenced in July 2015 and the first properties were reserved off-plan in September 2015.
