Meadfleet has been selected by Leicester City Council (LCC) to be their open space management partner on Ashton Green, a multi-phase, residential development delivering 1000’s of new homes.
LCC sought an experienced management company with in-house technical expertise, as well as a track record for quality maintenance, biodiversity enhancement, and community engagement.
Meadfleet will provide a consistent and long-term solution to the management of public areas becoming custodians of around 40 hectares of open space across the entire development.
Meadfleet’s Chairman, Paul Miller commented:
“Meadfleet’s appointment by Leicester City Council recognises the experience and expertise of our team and the responsible approach we take to the long-term care of open spaces along with our commitment to sustainability, customer care and community engagement.
“We are excited to be a partner in the sustainable new community being created by Leicester City Council. The extensive and varied open spaces at Ashton Green will create vibrant community areas for everyone to enjoy over years to come. We look forward to protecting and enhancing these areas to improve the local environment and support biodiversity in the area.”
Meadfleet will work closely with Leicester City Council who are the principal landowner and promoter of the development which will provide up to 3000 homes plus community facilities. Extensive open spaces have been designed throughout the scheme, including play areas, parks, woodland, sustainable drainage, and wildlife corridors.
Ashton Green will feature multiple development parcels, with the first being acquired by leading housebuilders, Tilia Homes and Morris Homes. Construction and house sales are underway although it is expected that the development will take around 20 years to complete.
