UK businesses have a unique opportunity to forge long-lasting and profitable partnerships with buyers and international trade advisors from a host of high-growth, high-spending overseas markets at Ecobuild, the UK’s largest show dedicated to construction and energy.
The UKTI Export Hub will play host to buyers from Brazil, Mexico, Sweden, Finland, India, Russia and USA as well as trade advisers from Canada, Denmark, India, Ireland, New Zealand, Norway, South Africa and UAE, among others.
They are seeking potential UK partners and suppliers for a wide range of major development, infrastructure and sustainable projects worth billions of pounds.
Brazil is looking for new solutions for its infrastructure bottlenecks, especially in smart design, efficient energy in buildings, innovative solutions to improve construction processes and products. Canada is particularly interested in innovations relating to energy efficiency, emissions reductions, architectural and consulting services and green building technologies.
India has an ambition to create 100 new smart cities and it is looking to upgrade urban infrastructure in 500 smaller towns and cities. The development and construction of Amravati, the new state capital of Andhra Pradesh is about to commence with a budget of about £25 billion.
New Zealand is in the midst of its largest infrastructure investment programme in the existence of the country. The leading investments are being made in the two largest cities, Auckland and Christchurch. Investment by local and national government into transport, commercial and residential infrastructure is forecasted at £13.5 billion in the next 5 years, combined with considerably greater private sector investment.
UK-based companies will be able to book 1-2-1 meetings with these buyers and trade officers, while UKTI officials will be on hand to advise entry level exporters on available opportunities and ways to overcome barriers to exporting.
Martin Hurn, Ecobuild Event Director, said:
“There is huge demand for UK exports and expertise across the globe. The UKTI Export Hub at Ecobuild brings the very best of these international opportunities together in one place.
“Visitors can gain knowledge of how their sector operates in international markets, an insight into exports demand in established and emerging markets and build lasting relationships with international clients.”
Mike Carroll, Head of the UK Construction Sector Team at UKTI, said:
“UKTI is delighted to be back at Ecobuild to showcase the UK as a world leader in the provision of construction good and services.
“I would encourage UK companies to take advantage of the array of UKTI experts who will be at Ecobuild offering advice on business opportunities on future construction projects from Ireland to New Zealand and for those new to exporting find out about the range of practical support available that can help your company to succeed overseas.”
The UKTI Export Hub will feature the iconic UKTI Exporting is Great truck as the focal point of the meeting area. It will also play host to a Nordic Networking Reception attended by two of Scandinavia’s leading construction companies, NCC and YIT, a Brazil market briefing hosted in partnership with BRE and an Export Clinic for new exporters.
