Cavanna Homes has become the only West Country based homebuilder to be awarded a top five star rating by the House Builders Federation (HBF).
Housing Minister Kris Hopkins presented the award to Group Director Martin Cavanna at the annual ceremony at Westminster this week (March 12th).
For the second year running, the third generation family business, whose headquarters are in Torquay, has been rated among the best house builders in the UK, according to a survey of homeowners.
Each year the owners of new-build homes are asked to take part in the independently verified customer satisfaction survey, and the coveted five stars are only awarded to companies who gain a minimum 90 per cent approval rating when buyers are asked whether they would recommend the firm to a friend.
Cavanna Homes’ group director for health and safety and customer services, Martin Cavanna said:
“Customer care is something we constantly strive to get right, so consequently this award is something everyone here at Cavanna Homes can take great pride in. It’s fantastic to know our customers have, once again, rated us so highly that they’d recommend us to their friends.
“This is only the second time we’ve been able to take part in the survey after the rules were changed to encompass smaller house builders, and to be honoured with five stars two years in a row is an outstanding achievement.”
The HBF awards are supported by the National House Building Council. NHBC Chief Executive Mike Quinton said:
“It is extremely encouraging that buyers of new homes feel so positive about their homes and the service provided by their builders.
“As the number of new homes being built in the UK continues to increase, it is vital that the industry maintains its focus on quality and excellent customer service to ensure these results are sustained in future.”
Nationwide, more than 30,000 new homeowners completed the 2012/13 survey, representing 56 per cent of all those polled. This year, the five-star award was presented to a total of 18 companies across the UK.
Cavanna Homes is taking part in the Government-backed Help to Buy and NewBuy schemes which help people get mortgages to buy their new homes.
This month, showhomes are opening on two of Cavanna’s latest developments, Horizon at Budleigh Salterton and Kings Field at Kingskerswell. Cavanna Homes is also behind the prestigious 504K development in Plymouth, Aspects in Dawlish, and Fusion in Paignton.
