Willen Hospice has received a £1,000 donation from local homebuilder Barratt Homes to ensure the Hospice can continue to assist people with personal and compassionate end of life care.
The donation will help the Hospice make sure those with life limiting illnesses have access to specialist support and care from their dedicated team of staff and volunteers.
Willen Hospice also offers bereavement support for loved ones, including specialist support for children and young people.
Ellie Walsh, trusts and foundations manager at Willen Hospice, said:
“We were thrilled to have been chosen by Barratt Homes to receive this kind donation! We were surprised and very grateful to be a recipient.
“Willen Hospice gives compassionate, personal end of life care at our hospice and in people’s homes, helping patients live well every day, and die with dignity. This exceptional care is given free of charge.
“Barratt Homes’ donation will help us continue caring for people with our support, including: in-patient unit care, community nursing care in people’s homes in Milton Keynes and the local area, and outpatient care including art therapies, complementary therapies, physiotherapy and occupational therapy.
“It is great to see businesses like Barratt Homes helping local and grassroots charities who know the local community best, to help people in need. These donations are important to help local charities, like Willen Hospice, be sustainable and continue supporting people in the local area.”
Amer Alkhalil, managing director at Barratt Homes Northampton, said:
“We are so pleased to be able to support Willen Hospice and the important work it is doing.
“It is important to us as a leading housebuilder to recognise and support local charities and organisations which help the communities near our developments.”
