Huw Llewellyn, managing director for Persimmon Homes West Wales, said:
“We’re delighted that our application has been approved and we can now start work on what is a very exciting development.
“This is a huge regeneration project for the city of Swansea and we’re happy to be playing our part.
“There is a need for more homes in South Wales and we’re confident that the 61 units will attract people to the docklands and breathe new life into this part of the city.
“We won’t waste any time beginning work as we look to be on site in the coming weeks.”
