Golding Homes and Ashford Borough Council seek public opinion on potential development

Golding Homes housing association and Ashford Borough Council are inviting members of the public to view and comment on plans for a small development at The Limes, Stanhope, Ashford.

Plans will be on display at The John Wallis School, Millbank Road, between 4pm and 7pm on Friday 10th January.

The proposed development would see the play area relocated and improved, and specialist accommodation built to house up to eight young people at risk of homelessness. One of the homes will be accessible for people with disabilities.

Cllr Aline Hicks, Ashford Borough Council’s portfolio holder for housing, said:

“We believe these homes are vital to help us provide much-needed supported accommodation at a time when preventing homelessness has never been more important. Not only that but the community stands to benefit from improved play facilities, so we are also keen to find out what would best suit them.”

Chris Blundell, Golding Homes’ Director of Development and Regeneration, said:

“We really want to hear what local people think of these plans before we submit a planning application. Our experience in building new homes shows that the end result is always better when the local community are involved.”
