When it comes to sustainability in the built environment, who do you think are the greatest influencers? ecobuild 2018 is going to celebrate the Top 10 people who have helped shape, or are currently shaping, the sustainability agenda in the built environment and wants to hear from you.
It could be a pioneer who’s driving real change, the chief executive of a company which is creating a lasting legacy, the head of a charity or the founder of a start-up who has ambitions and aspirations for a more sustainable future. Whoever you think has made, or is making, a real difference.
Sustainability is at the very heart of ecobuild; from the main conference programme, to the eco showcases and the futurebuild districts. A key purpose of the event is to not only discuss the key challenges facing the built environment, but to create an action plan for change. This plan will focus on helping to deliver the UN Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
Martin Hurn, managing director of ecobuild owner Futurebuild Events Ltd explained:
“There are so many talented people who are having a real impact on sustainable construction and this Top 10 will allow us to shout about the incredible work they’re doing. It gives the industry the chance to tell us who gets them excited and why.”
Nominations can be submitted through the ecobuild website: ecobuild.co.uk/sustainable-construction-top-10. They should be current influencers, or individuals who have driven real change since the original global warming agreement was made at Kyoto 20 years ago. Nominations will remain open until Friday 22nd December. Industry influencers from the ecobuild Steering Group will then debate the entries and create the final Top 10, which will be announced and showcased at the start of ecobuild 2018.
The Steering Group is made up of representatives from some of the industry’s leading, forward-thinking organisations including the Construction Leadership Council, Green Construction Board, UK-GBC, CIBSE, ICE, BRE and ZEDFactory. It was established as part of the mission to refresh the ecobuild experience and ensure the event reflects and addresses key industry priorities.
