A site manager from East Anglia with one of the UK’s largest house builders is celebrating after winning a prestigious industry award.
Dean Bellamy, who works for Persimmon Homes Anglia, has been named LABC Warranty East Anglia Regional Site Manager of the Year.
The Site Manager Awards recognise managers working with LABC Warranty, who achieve excellence in construction, and in doing so, demonstrate exceptional site management and workmanship. The judges take into account various factors including site administration, health and safety, storage of materials, waste control and site tidiness.
Dean works at Persimmon’s Lingwood development on Clover Chase and now goes through to the national finals being held in London in November, where he will compete against 14 other site managers from across the UK.
The delighted Managing Director of Persimmon Homes Anglia, Andrew Fuller said:
“This is fantastic news for Dean, and we are incredibly proud that his contribution has been recognised after 28 years of loyal service.
“It is a privilege to be recognised during The Site Manager Awards, with Dean’s accolade being testament to his hard work and dedication to Persimmon Anglia.”
Dean says he would highly recommend the construction industry to school leavers considering a long-term career.
“It’s a great industry to be a part of,
“I have worked here for 28 years and I’m still finding the industry exciting and challenging. Working my way up to site managing was fantastic, as it allowed me to try my hand at different roles as I continued my development. There are lots of opportunities for young people to get involved, from apprenticeships to site management and in our planning and technical teams.
“It is always a fantastic feeling to see customers move into a house you helped build, it is what makes the job worthwhile. I work alongside a great team, who each have such passion for the industry. It is an honour to be recognised with this award and it is something I will treasure.”
“Dean will always go that extra mile in order to achieve quality, and that is what makes him one of the best site managers around. We wish him the best of luck in the national finals later in the year.”
