Social housing landlord and construction giant team up to provide new homes
A local housing provider and one of the UK’s largest independent construction and infrastructure firms will work together to bring Elgin residents much-needed quality and affordable social housing.
Founded in Elgin in 1966, Robertson will begin construction of 44 new homes this month in conjunction with Hanover Housing Association, who specialise in care and support for the elderly, as part of a £8 million contract.
Frank Reid, Managing Director, Robertson Northern said:
“We are due to start works at the Spynie in July and we would anticipate that the construction phase of the project will take just over one year to complete.
“We are incredibly proud to be working with Hanover Housing once again having delivered projects with them in Forres, Fort William and Fochabers previously. They pride themselves on bringing quality homes across Scotland and we believe our values and build standards make us the ideal partner for this Elgin based project.”
Hanover (Scotland) are a leading housing association specialising in services for older people. They provide affordable, modern, and safe housing and services across Scotland, managing more than 4,000 homes for rent. They also act as factoring agents to more than 2,000 homeowners.
Chris Milburn, Director of Customer Services for Hanover (Scotland), said:
“This new community of affordable housing in Elgin will be a significant addition to the housing stock in the local area. Not only will residents be provided with comfortable and secure accommodation, built to high quality standards, but more importantly they will receive a new home in a vibrant community able to meet the range of care needs they may have.”
