Sanctuary Group is celebrating the completion of fourteen family homes in Ketley in Telford.
The new homes, a mix of new-build and refurbished properties for shared ownership or affordable rent, have been developed by the leading housing and care provider Sanctuary Group at the Glen Cottages site in Brickhill Lane, Ketley.
The £1.6 million project, part-funded by the Homes and Communities Agency and built by Sanctuary’s contractor Seddon Construction, will help provide much needed affordable housing for this part of Telford.
To celebrate this and the extra benefits the project has brought to Ketley – through employment and training opportunities on site and the improvement works taking place at the local community centre – Councillor Anil Saini, Chairman at Ketley Parish Council, joined Sanctuary to view these newly completed homes before the residents moved in.
Jonathan Mullins, Sanctuary’s head of development for the area, said:
“This is an unusual development in that if offers a mix of new and refurbished properties as well as both affordable rent and shared ownership options. Each new home has been finished to Sanctuary’s exacting high standards and understandingly there has been a lot of interest, with one of the shared ownership houses already reserved.”
He thanked both Cllr Saini for his interest in the project, and contractors Seddon for supporting the young apprentice at the Glen Cottages site and organising the on-going improvement works at Ketley Community Centre.
Following his tour of the completed properties, Cllr Saini added:
“Ketley Parish Council is pleased with the development of Glen Cottages. Sanctuary Group and Seddon have upgraded the properties to an extremely high standard, taking into consideration the original houses already on the site.”
