Bellway developments in Lower Callerton highly commended at First Time Buyer Readers’ Awards

Bellway has been recognised for the homes it is building for first-time buyers at two neighbouring developments in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Falcon Grove and Roman Court, which are located in Lower Callerton, six miles from the city centre, were highly commended in the Best Development in the North category at the First Time Buyer Readers’ Awards held in London.

Between them, the two developments comprise a total of 235 new homes for private sale, ranging from one-bedroom apartments to five-bedroom houses. More than half of the homes are either apartments or two and three-bedroom houses to cater for the first-time buyer market.

The homes benefit from green technologies such as smart heating, solar PV panels and electric vehicle charging points, to help residents minimise their energy bills and reduce carbon emissions, while the developments are sustainably located within a mile of shops, nurseries and schools.

Falcon Grove will also include a Sainsbury’s Local store, while there are allotments being provided next to Roman Court. Bus services will provide public transport to the city centre, just six miles away.

Emma Chesterton, Sales Director for Bellway North East, said:

“It’s immensely rewarding to be recognised by the First Time Buyer Readers’ Awards for the help we are giving to people looking to take their first step on the property ladder in Newcastle upon Tyne.

“Roman Court and Falcon Grove form our latest phases of development at Lower Callerton, where we are building a neighbourhood of up to 900 new homes, alongside green open space, a convenience store and allotments.

“Callerton has been designated as a Neighbourhood Growth Area by Newcastle City Council, and our project here is playing an important role in meeting the demand for new housing in the city, including from first-time buyers.”

Roman Court comprises 105 two, three and four-bedroom houses, while Falcon Grove features 130 one and two-bedroom apartments and two, three, four and five-bedroom houses.
There’s currently a choice of three and four-bedroom houses available to reserve at Roman Court from £299,995, while one and two-bedroom apartments at Falcon Grove start from £154,995, and two, three and four-bedroom houses from £234,995.
