BCP has confirmed construction is now complete on Callywhite, a state-of-the-art care home located within the grounds of the Green in Dronfield.
The new facility provides 39-beds for those living with dementia and the elderly.
Callywhite’s high quality accommodation also includes eight additional high specification close care units and was designed in conjunction with the client. It incorporates the University of Stirling’s design guidelines for Dementia Care, allowing staff at the new facility to deliver a personalised level of care for each resident, within a high-spec, comfortable and engaging environment.
Callywhite covers three floors with 39 large, en-suite bedrooms, 3 lounges, 3 dining rooms, multiple sensory rooms, a library, hairdressers and a landscaped courtyard.
Located on the same site as the existing The Green care home, the official opening of Callywhite takes the number of available beds to 80. Like The Green, Callywhite will be managed by The Green Nursing Homes Limited.
Brian Bullock from Building Construction Partnership Ltd, said:
“We’re delighted that Callywhite is complete and ready to welcome the first of its new residents. This has been a very rewarding project, working in partnership with a local family run business. We’re confident that Callywhite will be a rewarding and engaging environment and make a positive impact in the community.”
In recognition of its building and specialist care credentials, Callywhite has been entered for a Pinder award in the Health Care Design awards. This is testament not just to the architecture and build quality of Callywhite but of its ability to serve the needs and requirements of residents and incorporate those into the final design.
Mr Bullock added:
“It’s an honour to see Callywhite entered for the way in which it has considered the needs of the dementia sufferers and the elderly in the final design of the building. It’s a real vote of confidence for the property and testament to the foresight that has gone into the facility.”
