Allison Homes South West has started 2026 with the appointment of a new technical director, strengthening its leadership team as the business continues to expand its operational capability in line with ambitious regional growth plans. Mark Holland joins with 35 years in the housebuilding industry, which includes senior leadership roles at some of the UK’s largest volume housebuilders. With almost two decades’ experience as a technical director, Mark has delivered high- quality, design-led residential developments and major regeneration programmes.
Across his career, he has overseen nationally recognised, award-winning placemaking schemes and a multi-phase regeneration in Plymouth – a ten-year masterplan that included 1,200 new homes and 300 refurbishments, with 57 per cent affordable housing. He also played a key role in the redevelopment of St Austell town centre, delivering new residential apartments as part of the wider transformation programme.
In his new role, Mark will oversee all aspects of technical design and delivery within the region, working closely with the land team to support Allison Homes’ acquisition strategy. He’ll also play an integral role in preparing the business for key regulatory changes, including the introduction of the Future Homes Standard.
Mark said:
“My focus is to strengthen the technical foundation of the business, support site start-ups, and help implement evolving regulatory and sustainability requirements. It’s an exciting time to join the business which has a clear growth trajectory and I’m looking forward to contributing to the next phase of its development.”
In addition, as part of its long-term commitment to growing talent within the company to fuel the future growth of the business, Allison Homes South West has also welcomed a new graduate recruit, Alex Capnos-Taylor, who joins the land team following his studies in Business Management at Cardiff University and experience with a leading architectural consultancy.
Commenting, Alex said:
“I’ve always aspired to work in land, so when the graduate role came up at Allison Homes it felt like the perfect opportunity. I’m keen to contribute ideas, develop my skills and help support the region’s growth.”
Welcoming both appointments, Glyn Mabey, managing director for Allison Homes South West, added:
“Mark brings exceptional technical expertise, strategic insight and decades of experience delivering high-quality schemes for major housebuilders. His leadership will be instrumental as we scale at pace and prepare for the next generation of sustainable homebuilding.
“Alex represents the future of our industry. His ambition and enthusiasm will strengthen our pipeline and support the continued expansion of our land function. Together, their appointments reflect our commitment to invest in high-calibre talent at every level, ensuring we have the capability to deliver our long-term vision for the region.”
These recent hires follow several key appointments at Allison Homes South West, which recently welcomed a new sales director, land & partnerships director and land & partnerships manager.
