GreenSquareAccord (GSA), one of England’s largest providers of housing, have delivered 27 new, high-quality and affordable homes located between Harwell and Didcot, Oxfordshire.
GSA’s new homes are located on the larger Didcot Grove development, which was built by Vistry Group, Britain’s biggest housebuilder, under its Linden Homes brand, and are now all occupied.
Working in partnership with Vistry, GSA has helped to meet a variety of local housing need by providing 20 homes for affordable rent with the rest available under a low-cost home ownership scheme.
Denise Woolford, Development Officer at GSA, said: “It has been a real pleasure to work with Vistry Group to deliver 27 new affordable homes at the Didcot Grove development.
“In addition to providing homes for affordable rent, we have been able to offer opportunities, through our shared ownership scheme, to those who aspired to home ownership but otherwise may have been priced out of the market.
“Straddling the distance between the picturesque village of Harwell and the larger town of Didcot, incoming residents to Didcot Grove will be able to enjoy the best of town and country living.
The new homes on Didcot Grove, bought and managed by GSA, comprise of one- and two-bedroom apartments alongside semi-detached two-bedroom and three-bedroom houses.
Trevor Wicks, Managing Director of Vistry Thames Valley, said: “By working in partnership with GSA to provide these 27 affordable homes at Didcot Grove, we have been able to improve the opportunities for local people to secure a high-quality and energy-efficient property close to their friends, family or place of work.
“We are committed to building sustainable homes and communities across the UK through our partnerships-led approach. The affordable rent and shared ownership properties at Didcot Grove are part of a wider development of 76 homes which will also feature public open space with a play area for the entire community to enjoy.”
The Didcot Grove development is enviably located on the doorstep of the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with the nearest supermarket less than a ten-minute stroll away and all the conveniences of Didcot accessible in a five-minute drive.
For bigger city needs, Oxford is 14.3 miles away from Didcot Grove and can be reached within 30 minutes in moderate traffic.
