Reduce embodied carbon without redesigning your project. Discover how Milbank Concrete Products’ new Ultra Low Carbon Hollowcore delivers almost 60% less cement while maintaining the proven structural performance you trust.
Reducing embodied carbon has become one of the biggest challenges facing the construction industry.
Architects are under increasing pressure to specify lower-carbon materials. Contractors need practical ways to improve sustainability credentials without introducing additional risk. Developers are balancing planning requirements, ESG commitments and programme certainty, while procurement teams are increasingly looking for products that can help demonstrate measurable environmental improvements.
At Milbank Concrete Products, we’ve been asking a simple question.
How can we help customers reduce embodied carbon without changing the way they build?
We’re currently finalising the development of our new Ultra Low Carbon Hollowcore.
Developed with almost 60% less cement content when compared to our 2018 baseline, the new solution has been engineered to maintain the structural performance, reliability and buildability contractors already trust, helping project teams reduce embodied carbon without redesigning structural systems or changing installation methods.
As the industry continues to place greater focus on embodied carbon and Whole Life Carbon Assessments, we believe practical innovation has never been more important.
To help customers understand the impact of making the switch, every quotation for Ultra Low Carbon Hollowcore will include a calculated percentage carbon saving against Milbank’s 2018 baseline using our Carbon Reduction Calculator, providing a simple way to demonstrate the environmental benefit of choosing a lower-carbon solution.
This is just the beginning. As part of our ongoing commitment to carbon transparency, we’re continuing to develop the environmental data behind our products as we work towards Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs).
Another step towards helping the construction industry reduce embodied carbon without compromising performance.
We look forward to sharing more as we prepare to launch what we believe will be a significant advancement in sustainable prestressed concrete flooring.
