Hill appoints John Fitzgerald as Managing Director to support ambitious five-year growth strategy

Award-winning housebuilder The Hill Group has appointed John Fitzgerald as Managing Director for its Eastern Residential and Western regions, strengthening the company’s senior leadership team as it continues the next phase of its ambitious five-year growth strategy.

Bringing more than 35 years of experience across construction and residential development, John joins Hill at a pivotal point in the company’s evolution. His appointment will play a key role in delivering Hill’s 2025–2030 strategic business plan, creating additional leadership capacity across two of its largest regional businesses to support continued expansion and operational excellence, as the company works towards its ambition of doubling annual turnover to £2.3 billion by 2030.

John began his career at the age of 16 with Willmott Dixon Construction before moving into its housing business, where he worked alongside Hill’s founder and Chief Executive Andy Hill, who also began his early career in that organisation. He later joined Furlong Homes before spending more than two decades at Telford Homes, where he became the Group Managing Director.

In his new role, John will provide strategic leadership and, support regional teams to deliver high-quality developments while creating the structure and capacity needed for continued growth. Working closely with colleagues across construction, development, technical, commercial and sales teams, his focus will be on strengthening operational performance, developing high-performing teams and ensuring projects continue to be delivered safely, efficiently and to Hill’s exacting quality standards.

Key strategic developments in John’s regions include Marleigh Park in Cambridge, Little Chalfont Park in Buckinghamshire, Canalside Quarter in Oxford, Whalebones Park in Barnet and Sawyers Close in Windsor.

John’s appointment comes at a time of continued investment and growth for Hill.
