Regional homebuilder Allison Homes is celebrating after three of its Senior Site Managers were awarded National House Building Council (NHBC) Pride in the Job Quality Awards.
Allison Homes’ Chrissie Matthews, Jacob Bingham and Russell Patrick have each won a prestigious Quality Award, officially making them three of the best site managers in the East of England. A total of 449 winners were announced nationwide from a field of 7,500, putting Chrissie, Jacob and Russell in the top six per cent of UK site managers.
The Pride in the Job Awards are widely considered as the ‘Oscars’ of the housebuilding industry, celebrating site managers who deliver new homes to the highest standards. Across the country, site managers were scored in six key areas: consistency, attention to detail, leadership, interpretation of drawings and specifications, technical expertise, and health and safety.
Chrissie, who works on Allison Homes’ Cranbrook Grange development in Somersham, Cambridgeshire, said: “This is my second Quality Award, but it feels just as good as the first and shows me that I’m able to deliver consistent quality. As much as this award is for site managers, it takes the full team to be able to achieve it and I want to thank my Assistant Site Managers, Jimmy Tomlinson and Bobby Friel, for all their help.
“The most important thing with my team has been building a good working environment where everyone enjoys coming to site and working with those around them. I build relationships with our subcontractors in the same way, as consistency and communication are key to forming a successful team.
“I was always taught to ask myself the question ‘would you accept this standard in your own home?’ and if the answer is no, then we don’t allow it in someone else’s home. Buying a house is a massive life investment, so it needs to be right. I’m proud of Cranbrook Grange and the way it’s presented, and we’ll continue to deliver the best quality homes for our customers and housing association partners.”
This is the first Quality Award for Jacob, who oversees Allison Homes’ Beaufort Gardens development in Market Deeping, Lincolnshire.
Jacob said: “I was genuinely shocked when I found out I’d won, but it’s something I’m very proud of. This has been a real team effort, it’s not just the people on site but all the departments working together behind the scenes. We all strive to deliver the highest standards possible and it’s great to be recognised as one of the top-performing site managers in the country.
“I enjoy making improvements throughout the build process to ensure every home is delivered to the highest possible standard. Regular inspections, attention to detail and checking work as it’s being completed all help us maintain a high quality.
“It’s important to me that we always strive to be the best we can be. I lead by example and set high expectations, which helps create a culture where everyone takes pride in the quality of their work. We always focus on delivering homes we’d be happy to live in ourselves and ensuring customers receive the quality they expect and deserve.”
Russell is also a first-time Quality Award winner and delivering new homes on the outskirts of Peterborough, at the Violet Meadows development in Whittlesey.
Russell commented: “This award means everything to me. Winning a Pride in the Job Award has been a long-term goal of mine, so it feels fantastic to be recognised for all the hard work myself, my team and trades have put in since we started the development.
“I ensure everyone on my team has the confidence to carry out their roles to a high standard and to approach me if they need help or advice, making sure we all look out for each other. We work hard to make sure presentation is consistent across Violet Meadows and build quality homes for our excited customers.”

Chrissie, Jacob and Russell, along with all the other Quality Award winners, will now go on to compete for Seal of Excellence and Regional Awards, which will be announced in autumn. Winners of those awards will then be automatically entered into the national Supreme Awards in January 2027.
