Beal Homes submits £37m plans to extend popular Yorkshire community

Regional housebuilder Beal Homes has submitted plans for a £37m development extending a successful community in a popular area of Yorkshire.
Family-run Beal has applied to East Riding of Yorkshire Council for full planning permission for 169 high-quality homes in Hessle.

The proposed development would expand the existing Pilgrims Walk community which currently features 80 homes, bringing the total number of properties to 249. The proposed new phase features one, two, three and four-bedroom properties, including terraced, semi-detached and detached homes, and bungalows, on a tree-fringed site of almost 15 acres north of Boothferry Road, Hessle.

The planning application also includes proposals for landscaping, public open space and associated infrastructure. The proposed development is on a site allocated for housing under the East Riding of Yorkshire Council Local Plan. If approved, Beal is aiming for the first homes to be available for buyers to move in from early 2027.

Beal Land Director Chris Murphy said:

“Our Pilgrims Walk development has been extremely popular, which is no surprise given that Hessle is a very attractive place to live. “It’s a desirable suburban area, with excellent local amenities. It’s also located on the western side of Hull, close to open countryside while offering easy and rapid access to the  city, Beverley and beyond, via the road network.

“For all these reasons, demand for new homes in the area is very strong. That’s why we’re excited to put forward these plans to expand the Pilgrims Walk community and give people further opportunities to own a high-quality home in this sought-after area.”

The proposed development is less than a mile from Beal’s head office and Design Lounge at Bridgehead business park in Hessle, where Beal buyers work with the housebuilder’s expert designers to customise their new home to match their individual lifestyle and tastes.
