Hampshire-based housebuilder Metis Homes has officially acquired and commenced construction at its 0.25-hectare site in central Alresford. The brownfield site, located on The Dean, was sold to Metis Homes by property agents Savills and will eventually consist of an apartment scheme and public car park.
The site, which was previously occupied by three industrial units, will soon be replaced by a thoughtfully designed residential development comprising 14 characterful apartments, resident parking and a 40-space public car park. The scheme received unanimous planning approval from Winchester City Council in July 2024 and forms part of the broader regeneration of the town centre.
Metis Homes has officially named the development ‘The Fourteen,’ with a showhome set to launch in early Autumn 2025. Prospective buyers can register their interest now to stay updated on availability and further information released soon.
Mike Burton, Land Director at Metis Homes, commented: “We are delighted to have secured this prime site in the heart of Alresford and to have now commenced with construction. We look forward to delivering much-needed new homes alongside essential public parking. Our plans will enhance the local area, providing high-quality apartments that meet the needs of downsizers.”
Colin Wilkins, Director at Savills South Coast Development Services, said: “We are pleased to have facilitated the sale of this well-located site to Metis Homes, ensuring its regeneration aligns with Alresford’s evolving needs. This thoughtfully designed development will provide much-needed homes and improved public parking, enhancing the town centre for residents and visitors alike. We look forward to seeing Metis Homes bring this vision to life.”
The approved development will feature a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments, resident parking, cycle storage, refuse facilities, and a public car park, catering to the town’s growing demand for housing and parking solutions. The building will be of a traditional architectural style and arranged across two and three storeys, with pedestrian access running through the centre and separate access to the car park.Hampshire-based housebuilder Metis Homes has officially acquired and commenced construction at its 0.25-hectare site in central Alresford
