Maggie’s Centre, Lanarkshire

https://www.maggiescentres.org/

Designed by leading architects Reiach & Hall to be warm, welcoming and full of light and open space, Maggie’s Lanarkshire will be a place to find practical advice about benefits and eating well; places where qualified experts provide emotional support; places to meet other people or to simply sit quietly with a cup of tea.

As with all Maggie’s Centres, Maggie’s Lanarkshire will have the kitchen table at its heart. There will also be large rooms for group meetings, comfortably furnished rooms used for talks, timetabled courses and workshops, which might include stress management and relaxation courses, support groups specific to cancer type or Where Now? Our course, for people who have finished treatment.

The Centre’s garden has been carefully created to be a welcoming extension of the inside space; it offers uplifting views, a connection to the changing seasons, and, in warmer weather, a pleasant place to sit and relax.

Maggie’s Chief Executive Laura Lee said:

“Seeing a new Centre take shape is always an incredibly exciting time. It was wonderful to be there today with Colin whose Foundation has contributed so much to Maggie’s and to meet others who have played such a vital role in bringing Maggie’s Lanarkshire to Monklands Hospital.

“I look forward greatly to the day we are open and able to offer support to people across Lanarkshire.”
