Thirteen Pride in the Job awards for Barratt Scotland

Thirteen site managers at Barratt Scotland developments carried home awards from Friday’s National House Building Council’s (NHBC) Pride in the Job Quality Awards.

Six site managers from the North of Scotland, three from the West and four from the East received the prestigious awards in recognition of their commitment to building homes of outstanding quality.

Now in their 38th year, the Pride in the Job awards recognise the very best site managers from around the country. In total Barratt site managers won 83 Pride in the Job awards, more than any other housebuilder this year. Barratt has now won more Pride in the Jobs awards for a record 14 years in a row, making it the clear industry leader in site management.

Each year more than 16,000 site managers enter the competition and are judged against strict evaluation criteria, with just 450 individual winners then being chosen. Every winner has been rigorously assessed during the during the past twelve months across 37 areas, including their technical knowledge, quality controls, consistency, health and safety and customer service.

Douglas McLeod, regional managing director for Barratt Scotland, commented:

“These awards demonstrate that our site managers are building some of the best quality homes in Scotland. Customers who buy a home on a Pride in the Job winning site are benefiting from a really high quality product. By once again winning more of these awards than any other housebuilder it shows the commitment we have made to excellence in construction and putting customers at the heart of everything we do. To be recognised for our commitment to outstanding quality across 13 developments in Scotland is a fantastic achievement.”

The Pride in the Job Quality Awards are awarded after the NHBC carries out continuous site inspections of all homes to select the highest quality and best organised housing developments. All site managers will now go forward to the next round of the competition which will select the best site manager in Scotland.

These awards closely follow Barratt Developments being awarded five stars by the Home Builders Federation for customer satisfaction. Barratt is currently the only major national housebuilder to be rated as five star for nine years in a row, having first been awarded the accolade back in 2010. To be ranked as five star means that more than 90 per cent of customers would recommend a home to a friend and Barratt is the only major national housebuilder to be rated five star for nine years in a row.

The success reflects the company’s commitment to delivering desirable homes in the most sought-after locations, built to HBF’s exacting five-star quality standards.
