Regional Award winners named in NHBC Pride in the Job Awards

33 UK site managers have been named as Regional Award winners at events which took place throughout the autumn in the third round of NHBC Pride in the Job Awards 2018.  One overall Regional Award winner was selected in up to four categories, Small, Medium, Large and Multi-storey, at each of the ten regional ceremonies.

Now in their 38th year, the awards organised by NHBC, the UK’s leading warranty and insurance provider for new homes, are the most highly regarded in the house-building industry.  They recognise and reward a site manager’s dedication to achieving the highest standards in house building, and their commitment to building homes of outstanding quality.

Over the past 12 months judges have assessed the skills demonstrated by the site managers in their day-to-day work, covering six key areas: consistency, attention to detail, leadership, interpretation of drawings and specifications, technical expertise and health and safety.

This year’s Regional Award winners are just 33 of sixteen thousand site managers entered into the competition for their management of a site registered for warranty with NHBC.  A further 99 site managers were awarded with a Seal of Excellence in the second round of the competition, also announced at the regional ceremonies.  Being selected as one of the UK’s top site managers is testament to their commitment to building homes of outstanding quality for the benefit of the people who will live in them.

Commenting on the Awards, NHBC Chief Executive Steve Wood said:

“NHBC launched Pride in the Job in 1980, with the clear aim of promoting and driving the highest standards in new home building. 38 years on, this drive for excellence remains very much at the heart of the competition.”

“Pride in the Job recognises the hugely important role site managers play in delivering high quality new homes for residents and homeowners across the UK. Their role is undoubtedly one of the toughest in house building, they really do make the difference to quality on site.”

“On behalf of everyone at NHBC, I would like to congratulate them on this wonderful achievement.”

The Regional Award Winners will now go on to compete for the ultimate title in their builder category, Supreme Award Winner, to be unveiled at a gala ceremony in January 2019.
